Good morning Ladies n’ Gentlemen,

It’s my honor n’ great pleasure to share with you about my polytechnic life, which has definitely made an impact on me undergoing through an enriching campus lifestyle that has change my perspective of education.
I need your active participant as I go through this presentation so as to keep us engage n’ prizes will be given along the way.
Pretty much rewarding right,Now I’m going to conduct a simple demonstration of your responsiveness. If I say Ok, you say Alright.
Ok? Alright? Left? Right? Up? Down? – Always think out of the Box. =P
Without further ado, I would like to take you on a journey through the PowerPoint presentation in which I’ve prepared in order to create a verbal n’ visual effect upon you.
Well, as the saying goes:
Hear n’ forget, See n’ remember… Do N’ you’ll understand. So do your Homework Ok? Alright n’ do it the right way.
Slide 2 “Young, Bold, and Caring”
If you have come across TP, n’ taken notice of the sculpture, "Young, Bold and Caring", which reflects the colorful and dynamic campus life that students get to experience at TP.
Indeed.
I believe many of the individuals here have come across this in Coral itself, n’ possess of such attributes – “Young, Bold and Caring”, that will ensure you’ll go a long way in life all the way to the top.
This is the central hub of TP, which is known as the Plaza where many of the activities is held day n’ night.
Slide 3 – Central hub
Well, we have five schools in TP.
Can anyone come up n’ tell me the five schools and any one of the course you know of n’ wish to pursue. Prizes will be given =P
This is our fountain Park where maybe you might just find your inspirations there, or can simply just go for a breather-taker.
Slide 4 (*Magazine slide)
At this point of time, many of you may be wondering what’s the difference of enrolling into the different institution, JC’s (Pre-U), Polytechnics n’ even ITE’s that will prepare you to go into the real working world in the near future.
In my own opinion, polytechnic allows individuals to go out of the textbook context n’ explore campus life to another level, with a different meaning of education.
N’ many of our Alumni’s who went beyond textbook has definitely gained the upper edge alongside with meaningful rewards.
This magazine was given out during the TP Open House this year, exclusively for O’s level students. Saw anyone familiar? N’ you happen to know why he chose TP?
Over here, we have Edwin Tan whom graduated two years ago from CSS.Because he choose to Engineer his Future with the Best Polytechnic in the East =P
Slide 4 – News of Alumni’s
We also have,
Dharni –
One of the best beat-boxer in S’pore, any other Beat-boxer in Coral?
Glenn Ng n’ Samson Lam – Formed their own band, any other who wishes to form their own band in S’pore, n’ also wish to join the Super Band?
Nixon Low – future Chef whom Interviewed by Straits Time; Lifestyles
Anyone whom dreams to be the next top chef in one of the renowned places? He Graduated from TP this AY, with a Dip in Hospitality n’ Tourism Management.
I’ve also graduated from TP this AY, with a Dip in Intelligent Building Technology.
*Hey… we deserve some applauds*?
What I can tell you is that it’s not easy to go through the three long, awaited years before graduation… but trust me time flies as the next thing you know that you’ll be sitting for your exams, get your results, n’ have to choose the next step in life upon graduating from Coral. But it’s not that too hard if you put in that extra effort to go that extra mile.
Getting back onto track for my Polytechnic Life setting apart the other Alumni’s, I was actually the Vice-Captain of TP’Lifesaving Team n’ we had the opportunities to represent TP n’ compete against other varsity, n’ we manage to claim many medals alongside with the Overall Champion title.
I was also invited to attend a Press Conference held at the S’pore Power Building with regards to the Clean & Green Week held last year which they had a multi-million project in mind as reported.
In the same AY, I was also the President of my own course interest group, but have already stepped down n’ let the new blood continue the legacy.
The best of all is that I can get to experience different type of team n’ leadership bonding, friendship, meeting up with people from different level which I truly enjoy this kind of interaction while trying to built up my profile that have go a long way.
I was awarded the Letter Of Appreciation during the Annual General Meeting 2005 of the S’pore Lifesaving Society for the service n’ rescue during the year.
One day many of you here will be leaders,
Always remember to lead by example you must let people respect who you are, but not as of position. For your efforts will be recognized, n’ people will work with you
This picture of my Lifesaving Team is taken together with the Principal of TP (there in white), but not many students will have the chance to see him, which is really our blessing to have the chance to interact with him n’ fulfilled our promises of acclaiming the success for our Lifesaving Team.
This coming Thursday I’ll be attending the Student Award Ceremony, n’ the Principal is the one who had the final words to award our Lifesaving Team as “Team of the Year” amongst the 20 over other sports team.
I’ll also be awarded the CCA Merit Award.
Like I told you, you will get to experience the fruit of labor which is of success if you put in the extra effort n’ go that extra mile.
These awards will definitely be one of my best B’day presents. I’m a May Baby =P Can I have a show of hands of May Babies? Well, always remember everyday is worth a celebration. =P
Slide 5 – Opportunities is everywhere
N’ indeed opportunities are everywhere.
Always aim for the sky, for if you fail u can still reach for the clouds.
It’s how you make full use of it that matters, because you have a choice.
So set your priorities right.
Coming right up, I would like to show you two video clips in which was broadcast over TV-Mobile last year during Dec before the TP Open House 2006 held in Jan to publicize on the best Polytechnic in the East, with our Alumni’s Dharni on the first clip, and me on the second which depict the vibrant Poly life you can experience through TP.
These two clips will sum up about “My Polytechnic Life”.
Thanks you all for your patient n’ attention, n’ may all of you enjoy your fruit of labor in time to come, n’ experience your education to the fullest!
Best wishes,
Tan Jun Jiang, Benson
